The retail environment has exponentially grown in the past decade because of constant evolving technology.  The general goal of this industry is to have the correct level of stock in the network, but technology has enabled the industry to shift its focus to real time customer behaviour and data analysis.  Accurate data analysis enables the business to make tactical decisions frequently.  For this reason, Fourteg primarily highlights the importance of data management.

Manufacturing Environment

Within the manufacturing environment, reducing the cost of manufacturing becomes critical when competing in the market with price while keeping the required profit margins.  We have experience in manufacturing environments such as SABMiller, ABI and Hall Longmore and understand the complexities and constraints that can develop.

 

The same industrial engineering principles that we apply in the retail environment are applied in the manufacturing environment.  We place more emphasis however on time studies, process engineering, Theory of Constraints (TOC), waste management and resource capacity modeling.

 

 

MINING ENVIRONMENT

 

The Mining environment can become extremely complex if 100% collaboration is not maintained between data management and the entire value chain.  Fourteg’s primary goal is to increase the collaboration and to implement a business process model to ensure that the collaboration is maintained.

 

A business process is the collation of best practice business tasks required to perform events aligned to the business objective.  The improvement and analysis thereof refers to the implementation of best practice frameworks best suited for the specific industry and environment.  There are numerous best practice frameworks available and each framework provides its own set of methodologies for improvement and standardization.  To achieve the best results, it is imperative to thoroughly understand the business and gather the correct data.  Any constraints should be listed and the business objective should be clearly defined and incorporated into the value chain.
